The year was 2002. After a successful 25 year career in sales and marketing with a major textile company, I was starting to see the retirement light at the end of the tunnel. Little did I know that along with many others, I would be caught up in the down sizing, mergers and consolidations that were prevalent at that time. Yes, it was time to move out the old tired veterans and replace them with the young, aggressive up and coming executives at half the cost. That is how and why Acadian Industrial Textiles was born. Thanks to relationships I had established over a 25 year span, we were able to hit the ground running and we have never looked back. Our mission statement: “To provide the finest quality fabrics at competitive prices in niche markets with customer satisfaction guaranteed”. After 25 years with a large corporation, I knew the timing was perfect to establish a company that would work with distributors as partners and give them the service and quality they deserved. This is not to say we didn’t have a few bumps along the way. Today, we work with 7 state of the art textile mills on 4 continents to provide the finest quality fabrics to the many industrial markets we serve. From our core products such as woven and knitted shade fabrics, to paint ball netting, truck cover fabrics and HDPE knits for the aero space industry, if it is a woven or knitted polypropylene or polyethylene fabric you need, most likely we have it. If we don’t have, we will find it for you.
All the textiles mills we are in partnership with are ISO certified. Our warehousing partner is U.T.I., a global logistics company serving on 5 continents. To ensure quality assurance, each style we carry is tested by the manufacturer and is re-certified by S.G.I. Testing Services, an independent testing facility in Atlanta, Georgia.
One final thought: We would not be in business today without the support and guidance of a few select friends we also call our “original distributors”. These special people took a chance on us and gave us our start. For these special friends it would have been easy to take a pass on us and stick with my former employer. Today, we can proudly say we still have the original 5 companies that took a chance on us and gave us the support that was vital in those hectic and wonderful days of start up way back in 2002.
