Frost Protection
Acadian Industrial Textiles carries both woven and non woven frost protection fabrics. Non woven frost protection fabrics are used in field applications to assist in temperature control in Spring and Autumn. The non woven fabric is draped over a variety of field crops to protect sensitive buds and flowering plants from frost damage. Non woven frost protection fabrics are spun bonded or needle punched. Both fabrics will assist in maintaining temperatures while allowing water from irrigation or rain to penetrate through the membrane. When properly handled and stored, non woven frost protection can be re used for several seasons.
Woven frost protection fabric is applied to free standing shade structures for several months depending on the geographical location. Woven frost protection fabric can be laid directly over a shade fabric panel on an established shade structure. In some cases, the entire shade house is covered with woven frost protection fabric only. Woven frost protection is applicable for any manual or retractable shade house and will also fit over any size quonset structure. Woven frost protection fabric will assist in maintaining the ambient temperature inside a structure.
